Haliburton Forest is a sustainably managed forest spanning 100,000 acres and 100 lakes. It is an extremely unique company with ventures in various industries. It contains two divisions: Tourism and Recreation & Forest Products.

Tourism and Recreation

Including more than a dozen businesses this is the ‘Face’ of Haliburton Forest. Offering ecotourism ventures such as Snowmobiling, Canopy Tours, Wolf Centre, Group Experiences, Camping, Accommodations, and other day uses focused on the recreational trails. Leases and Land Use provides services to more than 1,000 lessees, who make use of 30 Hunt Clubs and a wide variety of Leased Sites. Yours Outdoors works hard to offer a variety of experiences in and outside the bounds of Haliburton Forest itself. Collaborating with local experience providers to share the very best of Haliburton County.

Forest Products

This division includes six businesses and gives Haliburton Forest its sustainable reputation. The forest management division is responsible for silvicultural strategy, logging operations, infrastructure development, and scientific research on the property in addition to the Crown forests Haliburton Forest is responsible for. There are 3 operational sawmills within Haliburton Forest that produce over 20 million fbm of hardwood lumber per year, in addition to large volumes of sawlogs, veneer logs, pulpwood, firewood, and sawmill co-products. The forest products business aims to improve the forest over a long-term period through the protection of ecological integrity of the Haliburton Forest property, while informing other landowners and producing valuable wood products sustainably. 

Kennisis Lake Marina

This is a full service family-owned and operated marina located 15 minutes from West Guilford just down the road from Klaxon Lake Estate. Accessible by water, land, or air this is a must stop spot. This marina offers boat rentals, storage, and service. With flexible storage options and experienced mechanics, the Marina is sure to meet all your boating needs. The on-site general store carries all cottage essentials as well as Kennisis Lake Marina branded merchandise. Kennisis Café carries Kawartha Dairy Ice Cream, a variety of smoothies, and an assortment of specialty coffees. Smoke on the Water, operated by Truss Foodworks, serves handcrafted smoked meats, local craft beers and wines waiting to be enjoyed on the patio overlooking the lake. With regards to recreation, KLM offers four tournament-grade lakeside pickleball courts and one tennis court for enjoyment. The Kennisis Canopy is a 60’x40’ tent with a variety of curated community events such as concerts, fitness classes, and more. Make sure to visit this community hub!
